Sometimes communication can really get messed up, but I think this may be a classic.
A person called a farming helpline with a general farming question. The question was "How long do I leave a rooster with the hens to fertilize the chicken's eggs?"
The person answering the phone and fielding the question did not know the answer and opened up his work file to look for the answer. As he leaned into his information files looking for the answer, he replied: "Just a minute!" The caller immediately replied, "Thank You," and hung up!
This was back during a time when caller ID was not yet invented. The man had no way to call back the person that asked the question. He could not explain that he merely wanted the caller to wait a minute until he found the answer.
I don't think there were many eggs fertilized in that farm yard that year!
